The Old World White Tasting Room

A selection of the best organic whites wines from the Old World

Mont'Albano - DOC Frulli Grave - Pinot Grigio

Carefully selected hand-harvested Pinot Grigio grapes from hillside vines. Aged in stainless steel tanks in order to ensure maximum fruit retention and palate freshness. A lovely bouquet of ripe pear and spring flowers marries perfectly with a keen-edged citrus fruit vibrancy. Far classier than the average 'PG' on the market offering excellent depth of flavour allied to a telling crisp finale. This organic white wine is great with antipasti, grilled fish and white meat dishes.

Faso Gino - IGP Tre Piume Blanco

Tre Piume' means 'three feathers', and the wine also contains three grape varieties (clever eh?) Gargenega, Chardonnay and Trebbiano. Very similar to lighter style Soave wines, this fresh, clean everyday Italian white evokes a subtle bouquet of pear, almond and delicately scented white flowers. Crisp, dry and charming with good balance. Makes for good aperitif drinking.

Feudo di Santa Tresa - Rina Ianca - Grillo Viognier

A lovely blend of 70% Grillo and 30% Viognier with the lemon zest acidity of the Grillo tempered by the waxy, peachy Viognier . Ripe and balanced, this is a great food friendly wine also. Silver Medal - International Organic Wine Awards 2016 (2015 vintage) 16.5/20 - 'A rather pretty apple-pie nose, even custardy, but in a creamy-custard-fruit rather than a vanilla-oak-custard kind of way. Fresh pie apples and lemon with generous and very well-balanced acidity. Tiny bit herbal on the finish. Altogether complete. Properly delicious. GV [Good Value].' Tamlyn Currin, November 2015 (2014 vintage)

Domaine de Pajot - Les Quatre Cepages

Les Quatre Cépages is a white dry, IGP Côtes de Gascogne. A lovely blend of Colombard, Ugni-Blanc, Sauvignon and Gros-Manseng. The wine maker calls them his musketeers !

Albert I Noya - DO Curios Xarel.lo

Xarel.lo is indigenous to Spain and we are real fans of it. Here it's unoaked with a fine seam of crisp acidity and come the sunshine, this is one of the most enlivening dry white wines we know. Very good indeed. Made from 50+ year old vines. Silver Medal - International Organic Wine Awards 2018 (2017 vintage)

Bodegas Piqueras - White Label

Aged on its lees for 4-6 months. Fresh and crisp on the palate with intense citrus, lime and tropical notes and a persistent finish. Food-friendly medium bodied wine to enjoy with a wide variety of dishes such as grilled fish, pasta and salads.
